How do we describe being ill in English?
Say I feel ill/sick, I have a headache/a cold/the flu, or use parts: My back hurts / I've got a pain in my leg. We do not say *I am having headache.
What is the difference between hurt, ache and pain?
Hurt is a verb meaning to cause or feel pain (My arm hurts). Ache is a continuous dull pain, often in compounds (headache, toothache). Pain is the general noun for discomfort.
