When do we use the present simple tense?

We use the present simple for habits and routines (I drink coffee every morning), facts and general truths (Water boils at 100°C), and timetabled events (The bus leaves at 6 p.m.).

How do we form the third person singular in the present simple?

Add -s to most verbs (work → works), -es after s, sh, ch, x and o (go → goes, watch → watches), and change y to -ies after a consonant (study → studies).

How do we make negatives and questions in the present simple?

Use do not / does not (or don't / doesn't) before the base verb for negatives, and do / does at the start for questions: She doesn't like tea. Do you live here?
